How I plan to Decorate My New and Empty Apartment

This is my new chapter in life and finally I move to my new apartment. But the problem is I got very empty and no decoration, so here is how I plan to decorate it.

I moved to a 2 BR studio apartment, but I will stay alone there. So, the second bedroom will transform into a cozy working room. This place also already has a kitchen, main bedroom, living room  and bathroom.

Because I’m a working home person, my plans are to create my home office based on my personality. Beside that, I will also create a cozy living room, and bedroom as well.

So, if you are in the same condition as me, just moving to a new apartment and want to decorate it, I will share my decorating plan and hope it can be your inspiration.

Apartment Decorating Ideas

Living in an apartment must be comfortable, cozy, and make me focused while I’m working. So, decorating it based on my personality is very important.

I will start from the very crucial, like the office nook. After that, I start to set up my living room, with some decorations that I have. Continue with my bedroom and Bathroom.

The Home Office

My apartment is very empty, there are no desks, shelves, or other decorations. So, I have considered putting a desk on it or just a wall-mounted desk plus chair, of course.

Another consideration is should I choose the L-shaped desk or just a wall-mounted desk against the window. So, I decided to install a wall mounted against the window.

It is good to let in natural light while I work and I can cover it with blind spot curtain. It is also more aesthetic looking and cozy. I need to install the shelves, some wall art, and of course a minimalist rug.

Living Room

Next, my plan is to makeover my empty living room. I already have a couch and an aesthetic mirror. I want to create a spacious effect in my living room.

So, I will put the couch in the center of the room,  complete with cushions to chill or just kill my time when I have nothing to do. The mirror is installed in the corner and I will be adding plants nearby.

A coffee table also needs to set up this area, more perfect with a minimalist rug, loving it. Beside that, my empty living room needs some art touches, like wall art or painting.

If this area is spacious enough, I will also create a TV area. So, later my guest and I can chillin and chit-chat while watching Netflix or YouTube.

Bedroom

The bedroom became my favourite place to really enjoy and relax after whole days. So, to create these vibes, I should plan about the design, the furniture, and lighting.

Because my concept is minimalist, but with a bit of Japandi and Wabi-Sabi design, so my bedroom has it all. I chose a queen-sized bed, with a linen blanket in the beige color.

I will put side tables on the left and right. As a decoration, a vintage vase on it, with plants. The other side is for lighting. I use white chic LED as my table lamp.

A white fluffy and large rug is also under my bed, so when I wake up, my legs touch it for the first time. It is also warm, especially when the winter comes. I also want to put a TV inside my bedroom.

I also need a Vanity inside my bedroom area. So, I will set a simple Vanity against my bedroom. While the color of this furniture follows the concept which is white or beige color.

Bathroom

My apartment has a nice bathroom, I mean the layout is set properly. So, I just need to plan the decoration and maybe add some color like what I want.

Inside the bathroom everything is white, which looks so boring. To make it more lively, I will add color to some stuff, like peach wall art for the bathroom, and hang my peach towel.

For an empty countertop, I think I will use marble peel and stick for this. While for the color I will use a white marble color. A peachy clean bath mat can make my bathroom look perfect.

Planning Apartment Decoration is Essentials

Living in an empty apartment is a chance to implement interior design and decoration for comfortable living. To avoid confusion about it all, just do planning first.

Start with areas that you think need much stuff, like home office areas. Then, continued to the main room and private room. To create a cozy place, you can personalize it.

Make sure that you don’t spend over budget to decorate your sanctuary. If you already have furniture or decorative stuff before, you can use it.
