Finally, I’m getting married and I feel so happy and excited. Why? Because after this part of life, there is a checklist first home needs that me and my husband to do as a newly wed.
I feel so excited because we just moved to our new small home. We can’t wait to fill it with the essential item that we really need.
I don’t want to buy many things that will make my sanctuary stuffy. So, I will make a checklist about what I have to buy and not to buy for a short time.

Bedroom Checklist
A bedroom is all we need as a newly wed, right? We will be spending a lot of time in this area, so why don’t we create a cozy one?
To fill the bedroom area, I need a bed of course. Beside that, the bed frame like headboard is very modern and aesthetic.
A bedside table that has multifunctional to be a bedside lamp too. I will put in the left and the right of my bedroom.
curtains that have similar colour as my bed, also needed to cover my room and give some privacy for us.
A mirror, it is also what I need for now. I want to have my own vanity, but for a short time, I think a mirror will be enough.
Mattress and cushions will make our bedroom perfectly. I want to choose the same color as my bed and the headboard too. Don’t forget a night lamp for better sleep.

Kitchen Checklist
Next, I want to set up my kitchen because this is the heart of my home. As a housewife I will spend a lot of time here.
But, again I don’t want to follow the trend in social media. I just need some essential stuff to fill my kitchen as I need.
First, a kitchen knife for cutting vegetables and meat for sure. Beside that, a chopping board that is made from wood and big. Pots and pans are also in my first list.
Plates and bowls should be on my kitchen set, I want these all in the white colors. And so my cooking utensils like peeler, ladle, spatula, all in white.
A microwave and coffee machine are not affordable, but these are also needed for daily cooking. I almost forgot about the glasses and cleaning supplies.
The important things are the dining table and chairs that are comfortable and suit with the interior design of my home.

Bathroom checklist
Actually, I want to have a bathroom that offers me relaxing, enjoying, and aesthetic, like in the villas. But, I realize that I should create it based on the budget that I have.
Let’s get back to the essentials that I need in my bathroom. Start with the towels for me and my husband. I want use bathroom wall paint color that make the room look spacious, it is must be white.
A toilet paper in the aesthetic holder and also soap and shampoo dispenser. A mirror will be needed, I like the one that has oval shapes.
The toothbrush holder should be in my bathroom. Every morning, I can even communicate with my husband while we brush teeth.
I need some storage too for keeping toiletries and making my bathroom area always tidy. Last but not least, a laundry basket that my husband needed.

Living room
Well, our new house has a small space so I don’t expect to put much stuff in this area. Some furniture and decorations must be in this room.

Because I love reading and writing, I also will put a bookshelf that is multifunctional as storage too. A coffee table can make my living room more inviting.
A grey pattern rug is also needed to be put in my living room area. I don’t have more space, so the smart TV will be there too.
For decorations of my living room, I just put an aesthetic home décor like wall art and plants. Beside that, a pendant light will be good for night time.

My husband is working in an IT company, while I want to start my freelancing career as a content creator. To support my career at home, I need a home office.
To set up my home office, I need several pieces of furniture and decorations for sure. I need desk decor ideas to find what style that I like.
I also need chairs, especially an ergonomic chair that supports my bones, so I don’t feel backache anymore.
Next, a stationary to keep my tools like a pencil or pen. Also book shelves to keep my notebook and my favourite book for sure.
A pendant light will be needed especially when the night comes and I am still on my desk. Beside that, in the afternoon I will need a blind or curtains to protect me from natural light.

For our first home, actually we don’t need to fill it with stuff like what we see on social media. We just need the essentials that are functional and important.
