When we are married and have a partner, it is surely exciting to share a bedroom. For me, I just want to have a pleasant bedroom that can always bring romantic vibes to us.

To create that vibe, I need to move to our new home. But now, my husband and I are still living together with our parents.

But, it doesn’t mean we can’t create our bedroom interior design and decorate it like we want. We will try to revamp our outdated bedroom to modern and minimalist.

Bedroom Ideas for Couple

As a newly married, we might need effort to create a pleasant bedroom. But we don’t always agree on everything in design.

I think that is true when we discuss bedroom interior design. Sometimes it makes me overthink, like many things to buy and needing extra money.

In fact, as a couple, sometimes we just need a little effort to decorate it and learn first about how to style our bedroom. So, this space will become restful and intimate for us.

Instead, you and I become overthinking, here are the few advice about bedroom ideas for couples shared by the experts on my domaine:

Pick up a Must-Have Element

As a couple, we can ask each other. The question is like what are the most important elements you’d like to see in this space?

So, the advice from the expert is that we need to figure it out. Where I should and shouldn’t compromise.

As a couple both of you can have the same style or maybe different on the interior design. When it comes to different things, you can blend design styles together.

Keep It Contemporary

If you are still confused and not sure what you have to do, don’t worry. You can keep it contemporary.

This style focuses on a streamline look and minimalist. It only needs to put in a modern bed, corner tables, and lighting.

To make it look modern, you can put contemporary art that you like on the wall. The result is your couple bedroom more fresh and so elegant.

Stay Simple

Bedroom interior design can be flexible for couples who love simplicity. You can create a cozy space that only you and your partner can enjoy.

To create this style, you have to avoid complex design that can make you overwhelmed when decorating it.

Just back to the basics again, you have a primary bedroom, lighting,  a single chair to relax sometimes and natural light from the outside.

Consider Neutral Colors

When you debate with your partner choosing bedroom paint colors that match for you, just calm down first. You don’t need to choose, because neutral colors are recommended.

The neutral shade not only matches with many home styles, but also it has calming vibes which are needed before we rest.

When you need peace and calm to get a nice sleep, using the neutral color is proper. A shade of white colors can be your choice.

Bring Earthy Elements

To create a pleasant bedroom, you also can bring earthy elements into it. It will make your private room feel warm and fresh.

The first one is to add greenery into the space. It is not always a tree, but you can pick one of the indoor plants for home decor.

For the furniture, you also can pick wooden furniture that is functional. It can be your corner table or storage.

Add Artwork You Both Love

My husband and I love photography. When we start decorating our bedroom, we want to put our photography work as wall art.

We didn’t expect that our room become more harmonious now. The wall art is our picture together from our honeymoon trip.

This is so simple, but has a deep meaning for us. Every time we enter the room, we feel like falling in love again.

Layer on texture

When you and your partner agree to blend the design styles together, the next step is to add a bit of a romance vibe.

It is not always flowers but more simple that that. You can consider picking the layering texture. It can be layers of blankets to beautiful rugs that ground the space.

These things can help to bring romance vibes into your bedroom. Especially, when you and your partner have pillow talk before sleep.

Curtains Choices

Beside the romantic vibe, you also need to focus on your windows. Which curtains match with your bedroom design style?

This depends on your personality and needs. If you want privacy, go for blackout curtains for your beauty nap. Take the one that is made of lightweight fabrics. While, if you just want to reduce natural light, a roller blind curtain can be a good choice.
